Courtesy note: This article is for small businesses, individuals who want to build their very first website.
This article is not for the large website building (which should be done in a different way), if you come here for that purpose, you can close this window now and thank you for reading so far.
In the early days when the internet was just introduced, building a website was only the professional’s job, but today the web and its technique has changed significantly. Everyone can own a website, just like everyone can use a computer —— if you can use computer, then you can build a website, in this article I will show you eight different ways to do it.
1.EasyPHP DevServer is a development web server installed under Windows environment for building your website and testing your pages, web applications, and developments on your own computer. You can move your website to a web server later on.
Step1: Download it from: http://www.easyphp.org/easyphp-devserver.php
Step2: Locate the downloaded file on your computer; double click on it and follow the instruction to install it.
Step3: Download Joomla module for EasyPHP from http://www.easyphp.org/modules.php
Step4: Install downloaded Joomla module for EasyPHP by double clicking on the file and follow the instruction
Step5: Go to EasyPHP DevServer main screen and activated it. That’s it.
2.Build it on your PC with WampServer
If you Google it, there are many tutorials about how to install Joomla on your PC with WampSerever, I recommend you follow this one : http://fearless-assassins.com/tutorials/article/242-how-to-install-joomla-with-wamp/.
3.Build it on your PC with XAMPP
Tuan Bui has written a nice article about how to do this, the link is: http://magazine.joomla.org/issues/issue-mar-2013/item/1110-free-e-book-%E2%80%93-introducing-joomla-30-made-easy.
4.Use UwAmp: It is a Wamp Server with Apache MySQL PHP and SQLite UwAmp is available as a Zip archive, just unpack it and you can run the wamp server. UwAmp doesn’t install files on the system to keep it clean.
From that point, you can follow this article http://fearless-assassins.com/tutorials/article/242-how-to-install-joomla-with-wamp/ to get your Joomla installed on your PC.
5.Use Vertrigo: Download Vertrigo from http://sourceforge.net/projects/vertrigo/files/ and then install it on your PC. You can follow this article http://fearless-assassins.com/tutorials/article/242-how-to-install-joomla-with-wamp/ to get your Joomla installed on your PC.
6.Build it by using AMPPS.
It doesn’t require you to have some knowledge of PhpMyAdmin, MySQL DB etc. All you need is to follow this link http://www.ampps.com/downloads to download and follow this link http://www.ampps.com/tour to learn how to install AMPPS and how to install Joomla on your computer. In brief, it can be done by a few clicks. I highly recommend this method compared with the first five ways.
7.Using a web Hosting service:You can get your Joomla installed via http://www.cloudaccess.net/products/joomla-hosting-and-support.html Choose the trial version. With a few clicks you will get your Joomla website installed. After 30 days, you have 3 options:
Option 1 – Upgrade and keep your site
Option 2 – Start a new Joomla demo. It allows unlimited free trials of Joomla. Login and launch an additional Joomla site. You can login to your Client Area and launch additional sites if you are still learning the system.
Option 3 – Download your site to your computer.
You can download a backup of your Joomla site to your local computer. Later they can launch your site for you provided you give them the backup.
